J. Cole Just Announced the Release Date for New Album ‘KOD’

J. Cole will be returning with his fifth studio album very, very soon.

On Monday, Cole took to social media to announce that he would be holding a surprise concert at New York City's Gramercy Theatre and that it would be a “first come, first served” kind of situation. The flyer for the show also warned that no cameras, bags, or phones would be allowed.

Following the show announcement, and also because Cole switched his Twitter profile pic, background, and Instagram avatar, many fans speculated the North Carolina rapper would be dropping some new music. It looks like those theories turned out to be true.

Following the aforementioned performance, Cole jumped back on social media to reveal that he has a new album on the way and it's titled KOD. And to make it all sweeter, we aren't going to have to wait that long to be able to hear it. The project will be out on Friday, April 20, which, of course, is International Marijuana Day, or something like that.

Cole reportedly played the album for those lucky enough to attend the NYC show. Brian “B.Dot” Miller shared the news on Twitter.

Cole's last album was 2016's 4 Your Eyez Only.

Watch ASAP Rocky’s New Video for “ASAP Forever”

ASAP Rocky just released a new video for the Moby-sampling single “ASAP Forever.” If you watched Lord Flacko’s performance on The Tonight Show on Wednesday, you know you’re in for a treat. The ASAP Mob frontman of sorts performed a medley of both “ASAP Forever” and “Distorted Records” on the late night show on Wednesday, with the music video for the Moby-featuring track is now officially out.

This is a pretty damn dope video. Immediately, you can tell that serious effort went into the cinematography and concept. The color palette is a bit more grainy than your usual contemporary hip-hop video, and does away with some of the glitz you might expect. The entire clip's essentially a contemplative reminiscing on times past, while also moving through New York at the speed of life.

While Rocky and his crew aren’t doing much else besides passing blunts back and forth, there’s an energy here that complements the song well. The best part, arguably, is the break we’re given halfway through, when Moby’s “Porcelain” really gets a chance to shine, and Rocky starts floating through space—before crashing into a wall. Did you catch that Easter egg appearance by Moby himself, by the way?

As we reported earlier Thursday, Rocky has been hinting at his new album for a while now. According to the man himself, the project is already finished. A bit more cryptic, perhaps, was his Instagram post containing never-before-heard vocals from Rocky, with the clip ending on a “for testing purposes only” title card. Some believe that Testing could be part of the project’s title, and the “ASAP Forever” adds fuel to the fire.

Cardi B Reveals Artwork and Release Date for Debut Album ‘Invasion of Privacy’

The wait is nearly over. Cardi B has revealed the artwork and release date for her debut album Invasion of Privacy. The long-awaited project will drop on Friday, April 6.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper first told fans at the Made In America festival that her debut album would be out in October of 2017. When nothing dropped, she revealed it was a classic case of perfectionism at play. Even with a white hot career, the Bronx native revealed how she was feeling about creating her debut album and the “pressure” that was attached to the endeavor.

“I got six, seven solid songs that I like [for the album], but I wonder if a month from now, I'm going to change my mind,” she told Rolling Stone. “It's not as fun to do music […] my mind doesn't flow as free 'cause I have so much on my mind,” she continued. “It's so sad to say, and I don't want to be the one to say it, but you gotta follow the trend. […] This generation loves to get high. They love to be on drugs. This is why they on that shit: They don't want to think about what you're saying.”

Luckily for Cardi, artists like J. Cole know exactly how she feels. “Cardi b I seen your breakfast club interview, loved it,” he tweeted. “Don’t put all that pressure on your album. You already won. Just drop & repeat.” Later on, the two met in person. Footage emerged of an attentive Cardi soaking in Cole’s sage advice.

Then, while giving her acceptance speech at the 2018 iHeartRadio Awards, Cardi shared an update on her oft-delayed project. “My album will be coming in April. Yessir, April. Stay tuned motherf—. Owww.”

She wasn't lying.

Maisie Williams Shoots Down ‘False’ Reports About ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Release Date

N*E*R*D Shares Cover Art and Release Date for New Album

N*E*R*D just announced the release date for their long-awaited new album. NO_ONE EVER REALLY DIES will be available on Dec. 15 for everyone who missed its surprise ComplexCon unveiling. The trio also shared what appears to be the album cover, which will certainly look nice saved to one's Apple Music library.

A post shared by N.E.R.D (@nerd) on Nov 22, 2017 at 5:00am PST

The album boasts N*E*R*D-worthy contributions from a variety of artists including Future and Kendrick Lamar, as well as André 3000 and Rihanna on the previously released tracks “Rollinem 7's” and “Lemon.” Ed Sheeran, Gucci Mane, Wale, and M.I.A. also make appearances.

You'll find the NO_ONE EVER REALLY DIES tracklist below:
1. “Deep Down Body Thirst”
2. “Lemon” f/ Rihanna
3. “Voilà” f/ Gucci Mane and Wale
4. “1000” f/ Future
5. “Don't Don't Do It” f/ Kendrick Lamar
6. “Kites” f/ Kendrick Lamar and M.I.A.
7. “ESP” 8. “Lightning Fire Magic Prayer”
9. “Rollinem 7’s” f/ André 3000
10. “Lifting You” f/ Ed Sheeran
11. “Secret Life of Tigers”

The album marks the trio's first one in seven years, following the 2010 release of Nothing. The 10-track collection was supported by the singles “Hypnotize U” and “Hot-n-Fun” featuring Nelly Furtado.

Amazingly, we are now a mere two years away from the band's 20th anniversary, a milestone I personally hope results in a tour featuring Pharrell and company shredding through their debut, In Search Of…, in full all across the world. I couldn't possibly be the only person still obsessively listening to “Rock Star” at least once a day.

Watch Klay Thompson Do the Most Random Interview Ever While Walking Around NYC

After playing against the Nets in Brooklyn on Sunday night, the Warriors had an off day on Monday. And that gave a couple of Golden State stars the opportunity to fulfill some media obligations in New York City.

Steph Curry stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night, and during his appearance on the show, he spoke about everything from serving as a taste-tester for his wife Ayesha at home to having his own line of Under Armour sneakers. He also made a well-timed joke about Fallon’s decision to take up “smoking” as a hobby while he was on the show. You can check out Curry’s appearance on The Tonight Show (“smoking” joke at the 1:20 mark) below.

But that was far from the most newsworthy media appearance made by a member of the Warriors on Monday. Because while Curry was taping his Tonight Show segment, his teammate Klay Thompson was off taking part in a media appearance of his own, and it involved a very important topic: Scaffolding. Yes, scaffolding.

If you’ve ever walked around New York City, you know that scaffolding is literally everywhere. It’s hard to walk for more than a block without having to walk under it. And somehow, Fox 5 in NYC was lucky enough to land a man on the street interview with Thompson, who talked about his approach to scaffolding as he made his way around the Big Apple on Monday. You can check out a portion of the interview below.

“I usually observe if the piping and stuff is new,” Thompson, who was identified as “NBA Player” by Fox 5, said. “Sometimes, you know, if it’s something that looks like it’s been there awhile, I kind of try to avoid that.”

If this seems like the most random interview you’ve ever seen an NBA player do, you’re not alone. This clip of Thompson talking scaffolding has been making the rounds on social media, and it’s been getting quite a reaction out there.

Can we request more clips of Thompson talking to local news people in every city he visits? The Warriors travel to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder on Wednesday night. Good luck topping this, OKC.
