Rick Ross Reportedly Returns Home From Hospital

Rick Ross has reportedly returned home after being hospitalized last week, according to TMZ. The rapper was taken to a Miami area hospital after someone called 911 and reported that he was unresponsive and “slobbing at the mouth” at 3 a.m. on Thursday morning. Four days after being hospitalized, Ross returned home in the early hours on Monday morning. He is reportedly receiving further treatment from the comfort of his home.

TMZ sources previously said the rapper was dealing with respiratory issues, but later reported that the issue turned out to be heart-related. The rapper was reportedly put into the ICU and attached to an ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), a device used for assisting with respiratory and heart functions. This news feled speculation that the rapper was on life support, a claim that a couple members of Maybach Music Group disputed. MMG associate Fat Trel shared an Instagram post Saturday saying Ross was “good.” Rockie Fresh also indicated that the TMZ report was inaccurate in a tweet.

The rapper has a history of health problems and appeared on Dr. Oz to talk about the back-to-back seizures he suffered while flying in 2011. “I went hard, you know,” he said. “It didn't seem as bad to me because the majority of the time I would be putting in work. The other time I would be partying, and the rest of the time it kind of blended. And that went on for years and years and years. I just developed those certain patterns.”

YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s Debut Album Pushed Back to April

It was supposed to be a big week for YoungBoy Never Broke Again. Back in January, the 18-year-old Baton Rouge rapper announced his debut album, Until Death Call My Name, would officially drop on March 2. The day came and went, with no project in sight, which left fans wondering: What the hell happened?

As pointed out by XXL magazine, the highly anticipated album has been pushed back to April 27, as shown on the iTunes pre-order link.

There’s no word on why exactly the project was delayed; however, it’s safe to assume that it has something to do with YoungBoy’s mounting legal troubles.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the rapper had been extradited to Ware County Jail in Georgia, where he will face charges of felony kidnapping and aggravated assault. The charges stem from a recent incident in which the rapper was captured on camera throwing his girlfriend to the ground in a hotel hallway before dragging her back into his room.

His girlfriend, Jania Jackson, denied that YoungBoy attacked her, and insisted they were “just playing” around.

“Kidnapped? Fuck no,” she said on Periscope after YoungBoy’s arrest. “Has he ever put his hands on me? Fuck no.”

She reiterated her denial in a new track she previewed on social media:

A judge has ordered YoungBoy to remain behind bars without any bail. His probation review hearing is scheduled for May 18.

MSNBC Anchor Quotes Mobb Deep While Dissing President Trump

MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber used a quote from Mobb Deep’s famed 1995 cut “Shook Ones Part II” to insult President Donald Trump on Friday night during his show, The Beat With Melber. Melber was discussing the president’s abuse of executive privilege within the frame of Nixon’s impeachment.

“[Nixon’s impeachment case is] worth bearing in mind as the Trump White House now stonewalls investigators, but insist it’s not really invoking executive privilege, or it’s trying some kind of modified halfway executive privilege,” Melber said.

He continued, “But there’s no such thing as halfway privilege, just as there’s no such thing as halfway crooks. We know that truth from the great poet Havoc of Mobb Deep who observed that true criminal minds are always thirsty for recognition, but you don’t see longevity from halfway crooks, ‘cause they always end up shook. And that’s the big problem facing any White House pursuing a cover up with halfway privilege.”

Melber revealed materials from President Nixon’s Watergate scandal back in 1972. The materials displayed exactly how exploiting executive privilege can be a crime and an impeachable offense. Executive privilege, per NPR, means, “a president has the right to withhold certain information from Congress, the courts or anyone else—even when faced with a subpoena.”

According to Melber, “the abuse of executive privilege was literally part of the basis for the obstruction articles against Nixon in his impeachment.” The lawyer who wrote the articles of impeachment for Nixon’s case told Melber how Trump may be headed down the same path. Melber used Mobb Deep’s lyrics to show why there isn’t such a thing as “halfway privilege.” The exact Mobb Deep lyrics that Melber referenced were from the song's hook, “Scared to death, scared to look, they shook/‘Cause ain't no such things as halfway crooks.”

Havoc posted a clip to Instagram of Melber quoting “Shook Ones Part II” with the caption, “Just as I was watching the homie @arimelber couldn’t be put any better!! Ain’t no such thing as #halfwaycrooks 🔥 #msnbc.”

Late Friday night, Melber also took to Instagram and posted a photo of himself with the message, “You can’t quote rap too much.” His caption read, “Real quote, although my inbox shows many, many people disagree,” followed by an eye-roll emoji.

Fans Apparently Started a Straight-Up Riot Outside Off-White’s Paris Fashion Week Show

The well-earned hype that continues to build around Off-White caused a straight-up riot in Paris Thursday.

The Hollywood Reporter described the vibe as “a mosh pit of terrifying pushing, screaming, and even some punching.” Fashionista added that police officers were shouting instructions in French and “forcefully pushing ticket holders out of the street to allow cars to pass.” All this would-be punk rockery went down outside the Paris Fashion Week show for Virgil Abloh's brand, which some have said was unfortunately overshadowed by what were most likely fans trying to sneakily enter the show off Rue Cambon.

As for the scene inside, Bella Hadid opened the show, titled West Village.

A post shared by Off-White™ (@off____white) on Mar 1, 2018 at 12:24pm PST

At the time of this writing, Abloh had not publicly commented on the riot reports other than to tell Women's Wear Daily backstage that he was “only just learning about it now.”

Rick Ross Reportedly on a Form of Life Support After Being Found Unresponsive (UPDATE)

UPDATED 7:00 p.m. ET: TMZ is reporting that Rick Ross has been hooked up to a machine called ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) that's keeping him alive in a Miami area hospital's cardio unit after he was initially found unresponsive. Early indications point towards a heart attack, although at this time that's unconfirmed. His heart and lungs have been taken over by the machine he's hooked up to, meaning he's currently on life support.

The report has since been disputed by Maybach Music Group associate Fat Trel, who took to Instagram to say he spoke with Rick Ross. According to Trel, Ross is “good” and “not on 'life support.'”

MMG's own Rockie Fresh also intimated TMZ's report was inaccurate. “TMZ gassin,” he wrote on Twitter.

See below for original story.

Rick Ross is reportedly in the hospital for respiratory treatment related to possible pneumonia.

A 911 call was placed by someone at Ross' Miami-area residence around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, according to TMZ. Police sources claim that the “person in distress,” reportedly Ross, became “combative” following a period of heavy breathing. A Ross source added that the issue is “heart-related,” but an unnamed family member has denied the hospitalization entirely. Reps for Ross did not immediately respond to Complex's request for comment.

Last year, Ross appeared on Dr. Oz amid his Rather You Than Me promo tour and discussed the back-to-back seizures he suffered while flying in 2011. “I went hard, you know,” he said. “It didn't seem as bad to me because the majority of the time I would be putting in work. The other time I would be partying, and the rest of the time it kind of blended. And that went on for years and years and years. I just developed those certain patterns.”

Ross dropped off the video for his T-Pain and Kodak Black collab “Florida Boy” last month.

Port of Miami 2: Born to Kill, according to comments Ross gave to Tim Westwood in November, is set to be released this year. “I'm digging deep into these joints, these records, these collaborations,” Ross said at the time. “I'm just going all out. It's the 10th one.” DJ Khaled has been involved with the sessions in some capacity. “Port of Miami 2 in the works,” he told fans last August.

Diddy Urges Aspiring Rappers ‘Don’t Be Part of the Noise’

Diddy decided to drop some words of wisdom onto the 'Gram Tuesday night, sharing a “message from love” to all the aspiring rap artists out there. “Every artist has to be unique in their own right,” he said, preaching into his front cam.

“I guess I'm trying to say if you're going to be in this game be great, because you can also be part of the noise,” he explained further.

There's been tons of debate over creativity being scarce in rap as of late, with everyone from Joe Budden, to Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg giving their own hot takes on the issue. In the post Diddy shared, however, he seems to be coming from a genuine place of concern for the culture, rather than taking cheap jabs at the youngsters. In his caption he writes, “I don't want the culture to get diluted. Artists have to be special, you have to be unique.”

People sounded off in the comments voicing their own opinions, praising Diddy for keeping it real, or flat-out shading artists they thought were guilty of what Diddy was cautioning against.

Keeping it on a positive note, Diddy ended his Tuesday night musings with a message of positivity: “With that said, all you young inspiring rappers out there, and R&B artists and singers, and dancers keep doing your thing and be special.”

UFC Fighter Mike Perry Tried to Pull Down Rival’s Pants at Weigh-In

It’s typical to see UFC opponents engage in some trash talk or feign a pre-fight brawl during their weigh-in, but Mike Perry took things to comically new heights Friday by attempting to “pants” Max Griffin after his portion of the weigh-in.

As you can see in the clip above, Perry initially follows the normal weigh-in routine by handing off his clothing and stepping on the scale. Griffin and Perry then engage in the typical stare down, with Griffin appearing to throw in some trash talk for good measure. Then things take a bizarre turn at the 36-second mark, as Perry stoops down and tries to pull off Griffin’s sweatpants. The move appears to also catch the weigh-in commentators by surprise.

“Is he trying to pants him?” one commentator asks.

Given that Nate Diaz nearly smoked marijuana on live television, a pantsing during a weigh-in is almost par for the course by UFC standards.

Per Jay Reddick of the Orlando Sentinel, Perry is a heavy favorite to beat Griffin when the two square off Saturday night. Griffin is a former corporate real estate worker with a career 1-2 record.

“A lot of people are really excited for me,” Perry said, during a pre-fight press conference covered by the Sentinel. “I’ve earned this. That’s the way I look at it. I worked my [expletive] off to make sure I perform on Saturday for the hometown … so I can sleep at home, wake up on fight day, pet my dogs, go to war and return victorious. A comfortable fighter is a dangerous fighter and that’s what I am. I’m a dangerous mother [expletive].”

Griffin and Perry’s welterweight match will be a part of UFC Fight Night, which begins Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in Orlando with bouts airing on UFC’s Fight Pass streaming service and Fox.

Matt Barnes Tried to Wish His Ex Happy Birthday and It Backfired Immediately

Gloria Govan, the ex-wife of former NBA player Matt Barnes, celebrated her 33rd birthday on Thursday. To mark the occasion, Barnes—who has endured his fair share of well-publicized problems with Govan over the course of the last few years—took to Instagram to post a photo of Govan along with the couple’s twin boys. He also shared what appeared to be a nice message for Govan wishing her a happy birthday.

“Although things have been rocky to say the least the last 4 years I hope that for the sake of our two beautiful baby boys we can come together & co parent them to the best of our abilities!” Barnes wrote. “No more games or bullshit… They need both of our love & support equally! We lead different lives now but we still on the same team.”

There didn’t seem to be anything malicious attached to the caption Barnes wrote. But apparently, Govan didn’t see things that way. Because shortly after Barnes’ IG photo went up, Govan clapped back at Barnes in the comments section with a message of her own. She did say thank you—but she quickly followed it up by taking aim at Barnes and pointing out that she is scheduled to see him in court next week over a legal situation brewing between the two.

“Thank you, I think?” Govan wrote. “And yes One can only continue to pray that you take your own advice and learn to peacefully co parent! But until then I’ll see you in court next week because you love a frivolous lawsuit. But hey let’s keep co-parenting.”

Okaaaaaaay then.

While Barnes didn’t seem to intend to throw shots at Govan with his original message, his tone changed when he responded to Govan’s comment with another message. This time, he lobbed some pretty serious allegations at Govan before punctuating his comment with a slightly pettier version of “happy birthday.”

“Well…” Barnes wrote. “Stealing money my social security # & forging my signature to buy your parents night club & house is pretty serious. But hey…I tried! See you in court! Oh & happy bday.”

Barnes also posted this on IG later.

‼️ Back on my Pac shit! #PowerToThePeople on the way ✊🏽

A post shared by matt_barnes9 (@matt_barnes9) on Feb 22, 2018 at 8:51pm PST

At this point, Barnes and Govan have been going back and forth like this for years, so none of this is all that surprising. But it’s pretty amazing to see that, after all this time, the hate they have for one another still seems to be so fresh in their minds. Maybe one day that will change, but for now, don’t count on that day coming anytime soon.

People Aren’t Happy With Chris Brown Wishing Rihanna Happy Birthday on Instagram

First of all, happy birthday Rihanna! We are not worthy of this Pisces goddess with killer footwear and flawless foundation. Seriously, there’s a lot to celebrate today. What's less celebration-worthy is Chris Brown joining in on the birthday wishes. Yep, Brown shared a baby photo of young Robyn Fenty on his Instagram wishing her a happy birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @badgalriri

A post shared by 💔🌕💿SILVER AURA🔊 INDIGO CHILD (@chrisbrownofficial) on Feb 19, 2018 at 10:23pm PST

The picture is obviously adorable, and some fans thought it was a sweet sentiment showing that the complicated past between the two artists is behind them. Others thought it was disgusting. “DID YOU FORGET THE FACT THAT YOU BEAT ON MY SIS,” @eangotclout commented.

“Delete this?? Abusing women and continuing to stalk them long after they’ve moved on is creepy and sad, not funny or cute,” wrote @eastcoastvibes.

For those who don’t recall or might be murky on the details, Rihanna and Chris Brown dated for about four years from 2005 to 2009, with a brief reunion in 2013. Headlines began popping up everywhere in 2009 that the two were far from the happy couple they appeared to be. Images of a bruised Rihanna hit the internet with circulating rumors of domestic violence. The ordeal resulted in Chris Brown being slapped with a restraining order at the end of their relationship.

There are more details you can read about here and here, but at the end of the day, the two went their separate ways. The aftermath gave Rihanna fans songs like “Russian Roulette,” a ballad that details relationship violence by comparing it to a game. Rihanna became, and in some ways still is, the complicated poster child of domestic violence. “I am strong,” she told ABC back in 2009. “This happened to me. I didn’t cause it. I didn’t do it. This happened to me and it can happen to anybody.”

In a 2015 interview with Vanity Fair, Rihanna said that she felt no ill will toward Brown, but that the two were not friends and don’t really have any contact.

Fortunately, Robyn's now got her scrumptious bae Hassan Jameel to give her all the birthday wishes she really needs on this big 3-0 milestone. Happy Birthday, Rihanna!

Birdman Coughed Up the $200,000 He Owed AR-Ab for the Super Bowl Bet

Birdman has finally made good on a Super Bowl bet with Philly rapper AR-Ab.

Hours before the big game, the two rap impresarios bet one another $100,000 on who would win. Needless to say, Ab put his money on his hometown Philadelphia Eagles, while Birdman went for the favored New England Patriots. As the game progressed, the bet increased by $150,000, eventually topping out at $200,000. Shortly after the Eagles snatched the title from Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, Birdman deleted all of his social media posts that documented the bet, while AR-Ab boasted about the winnings that were coming his way courtesy of Mr. 5 Star himself. “Actually it was $200,000,” he wrote in response to Complex's original report. “I️ ain’t gonna do nuffin but buy more houses and pay for my homies Lawyers and Appeal Lawyers.”

Despite Birdman deleting all evidence of the wager from social media, it seems he did make good on his word. The Cash Money mogul sent over the $200,000 he owed, which Ab is seen posing with for the 'gram. “Thank you @Birdman5star next time we can bet on the Sixers.”

Thank U @birdman5star Let’s Bet On The Sixers Next 😬

Now we have no choice but to put some respek on Birdman's name.
