Everyone Is Freaking Out Over Nicki Minaj’s Ménage à Trois-Inspired ‘Paper’ Mag Cover

Posing with two additional incarnations of yourself on magazine covers is officially the new wave. Tuesday, Paper unveiled their Ellen von Unwerth-shot new cover featuring Nicki Minaj. The “Minaj à Trois” cover also revives the publication's “Break the Internet” catchphrase, which magazine cover aficionados will remember from its inclusion on Kim Kardashian's own internet-smashing Paper cover back in 2014.

“We have never called an issue Break the Internet since we did it back in 2014 with Kim Kardashian,” Paper creative director Drew Elliott wrote when introducing their new cover. “It takes a certain type of talent, with an awesome fan base and the ability to put trust in PAPER to work our magic. I have always loved all of the looks that Nicki has done (and she has done them all). Her style (typically anchored by her off-the-charts hair choices) matches her musical talent perfectly. Break the Internet is all about the big idea, the word, the image. It came to me one day that 'Minaj à trois' had never been done. HOW?”

The full cover feature drops Wednesday. According to Paper, the feature includes even more internet-breaking Ellen von Unwerth shots. Until then, let's do that thing where we embed a bunch of tweets into an article and ask you to read them here instead of actually on Twitter.

The most notable response, arguably, is the trio of flame emoji Kardashian left on Minaj's Instagram post.

Nicki Minaj Says “MotorSport” Was Originally Only a Collab With Quavo

Shortly after Migos released “MotorSport,” many people began speculating that Nicki Minaj had no idea Cardi B would also be featured on the record. Joe Budden shared his thoughts on the matter in a recent episode of Everyday Struggle.

“I think that Kanye [West] suggested to Migos to put Nicki on this song,” Budden said. “I do not think that Migos or anybody stepped to Nicki and said, 'We have a record featuring Migos and Cardi and we would like you to get on it.' I don't think that happened. […] I don't think there was a Cardi verse anywhere in this equation.”

Well, it turns out Joe’s theory was true; however, Nicki wasn’t exactly blindsided.

Nicki addressed the rumors Tuesday night on Twitter, explaining she originally recorded the song under the assumption it would be just her and Quavo; however, she said Quavo later contacted her about Cardi’s potential verse. Nicki insisted she was all for it.

Nicki went on to say that all of her records receive her stamp of approval before they’re released on streaming services. She also suggested that these blindside theories were a way to perpetuate false rumors that she and Cardi have beef.

Nicki also referenced Cardi’s recent interview with Complex, in which she addressed the rumored feud.

Nicki also referenced Cardi’s recent interview with Complex, in which she addressed the rumored feud.

“It’s so annoying. I feel like people wouldn’t even be satisfied even if me and [Nicki] was making out,” Cardi said. “I feel like people just want that drama because it’s just entertaining. You know when Nicki and Remy was going at it with each other, everybody was getting entertained. […] People constantly, always want to talk about how in our community—in the urban community—how we need to get along with each other. But these are the same people who want to see minority women against each other. They don’t that shit in pop music. They don’t do that shit.”

Offset Proposed to Cardi B and She Said Yes

Offset has proposed to Cardi B. Offset asked the very large question on bended knee (sort of, it was more of a Crouching Tiger Hidden Migos thing) at Power 99's Powerhouse in Philadelphia. The two have been dating since the top of the year. Watch the cuteness of the proposal and Cardi's ecstatic reaction below.

#OFFSET JUST PROPOSED IM SCREAMING 😩😨😨❤️ – @offsetyrn @iamcardib

A post shared by #1 Offset ❤️ Cardi B Fanpage (@bardiset.page) on Oct 27, 2017 at 8:18pm PDT

Cardi took to Instagram to express her love for Offset following the proposal.

People responded to the beautiful news on the very popular website Twitter.com.

Rumors that the couple got engaged started to circulate not too long back. It began after the two went jewelry shopping in Atlanta back on August 22.

An article from Real Cool Nation titled “Exclusive: Cardi B Just Got Engaged To Migos Rapper Offset — He Proposed Last Night!” was published and added fuel to the fire. The article turned out not to be true, well, not until now at least.

Cardi is featured on Migos' new Culture 2 single “MotorSport” featuring Nicki Minaj. The track came out just hours prior to the proposal. Both Offset and Cardi B's 2017, even not taking into account this whole engagement business, has been spectacular.

Cardi's summer anthem “Bodak Yellow” clenched the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 while Offset's group Migos dropped their second studio album Culture. The album debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 and reached platinum status back in July.

Congratulations are in order, so congratulations to Cardi B and Offset.

Azealia Banks Comes to Nicki Minaj’s Defense Over Comments About Sexism in Rap

Roughly a month after she sent a message to Nicki Minaj apologizing for previously said (but unspecific) “catty shit,” Azealia Banks wrote a message of support for Minaj following an Instagram screenshot journalist and Rap Radar founder/CEO Elliott Wilson posted that was an implied endorsement of its contents. You be the judge:

A post shared by Elliott Wilson (@elliottwilson) on Oct 27, 2017 at 7:07am PDT

The tweet in question, as you can see, seemed to say that Minaj would win crowds back over once she stopped talking about her accomplishments (which may have to do with these recent tweets about the double-standards women face in hip-hop or her saying she's the most awarded female rapper in history). Banks, who took exception to that, posted some comments on the subject that were flagged by Complex writer Eric Diep (credit where credit's due, and all):

If you don't have eagle eyes, here's her response(s) to the screenshot:

A fan also implored her to re-focus her energy on rap:

To which she issued this response:

It takes some serious digging, but sometimes you find some gems in the IG comments.

Migos, Cardi B, and Nicki Minaj’s “MotorSport” Is Here

After months of relentless teasing, the first single from Migos' Culture II has finally landed. “MotorSport” premiered Friday morning on the Breakfast Club shortly after the hosts endured a peculiar conversation with the Hillsong Church guy, just hours after a preview of the track landed on YouTube.

Migos also teased the new track during their performance at Power 105.1's Powerhouse at Barclays Thursday night.

Check the full version of the soon-to-be-everywhere collaboration, featuring Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, below via Spotify. Murda Beatz and CuBeatz provide production.

Though we still don't have a formal Culture II release date, the arrival of “MotorSport” means we should likely expect the project soon. Judging by Quavo's recent headline-spawning social media activity, the collection may include a variety of additional top-shelf collaborators.

Donald Glover, Lil Yachty, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Ty Dolla Sign, Big Sean, Travis Scott, and Kanye West have all been either been seen in the studio with Quavo or heard in frustratingly brief clips of already completed collabs. Culture II also boasts a mystery executive producer, with many album hype theorists predicting their identity as being synonymous with 🐐.

Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, thankfully, also have new projects on the way. For Cardi B, the release will mark her debut studio album and arrives on the wave of hype cultivated by one of the best (and biggest songs) of 2017.
