Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner have more in common than most sisters with a 17-year gap. They both are successful businesswomen, have children who are just two weeks apart in age, are wildly famous, and look eerily similar. It was only natural for the Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars to sit down for an interview with just each other. Kim, 37, interviewed Kylie, 20, for the Evening Standard and offered a unique look into their experiences as mothers, the role of fame in their lives, and whether or not Kylie will get plastic surgery.
The Kardashians have been known to give their children unique names with sentimental meanings. When Kim asked Kylie where she thought of the name Stormi, her daughter with Travis Scott, she said Stormi basically chose her own name. “I really don’t know how we thought of Storm,” said Kylie to Kim. “Her dad insisted it was him, but I feel like it was me. And that kind of just stuck with us. And then I didn’t really like just Storm. I didn’t feel like that was her name. So then it became Stormi. And it just stuck. I feel like there were a lot of other names that I might have even liked better to be honest, but I feel like Stormi picked her own name, like it was just her name.”
The sisters marveled over the experience of watching their children grow up together. “They hang out all the time. It’s crazy how fast they grow, because Chi is just, like, two weeks older, but you can tell she’s a little bit more advanced. And then, right when Stormi hits two weeks, she’s doing the same things Chi was doing, and they’re like, it’s just crazy to see them grow up together.” Khloe's daughter is 10 weeks younger than baby Stormi.
Later in the interview, Kim asked Kylie her opinion on plastic surgery. Kylie said, “I feel like if it makes you feel better, and if that’s what you want to do, I’m not against it. Right now I probably wouldn’t do anything, actually.” Kim hilariously responded, “You’re 20, so I hope not! We’ll talk in 20 years, and then maybe you’ll have a different answer.”
When Kim questioned whether or not Kylie wanted Stormi to appear on reality TV, she said she's not sure yet. She said stardom has made it “harder to make new friends and see if people have, like, true intentions and stuff like that.” On fame, she said, “I do think about if I didn’t have to be famous. And it’s like a fantasy sometimes, but there’s really not one problem I have. You figure out how to deal with it.” Kim, however, had a more straightforward opinion on fame. She said to Kylie, “I always think that the benefits outweigh the negative things.”
