Daft Punk Have 3:1 Odds Of Headlining Coachella In Beyonce’s Stead

After the announcement yesterday that Beyonce would not be performing at Coachella this year, the rumor began spinning at full force to try and figure out who would be taking her place. Guesses ranging from Daft Punk to Chance The Rapper have been dominating news feeds over the past 24 hours. Now, UK betting company Betfair has released odds on who will take over.

Stemming from the bevy of rumors surrounding their return, Daft Punk are clear favorites to take over, despite them not having been booked in the first place. Their last run at Coachella was actually in 2006, despite their live album being titled Alive 2007. It would still make sense for them to make an appearance, though.

Naomi Totten, a spokesperson for Betfair, said: “Rumours have been circulating about a tour for Daft Punk and what a spectacular way to kick off their revival than by headlining Coachella. With Beyoncé now officially very pregnant, she has had to rule herself out of the April festival and so all attention is now focused on who will be wowing the crowds in her absence.

Kanye West has been out of the spotlight since cancelling his ‘Saint Pablo’ tour last year and is likely itching for a comeback, the rapper is 7/1 joint second favourite with Lady Gaga who absolutely smashed her Super Bowl performance early in February. Beyoncé most famous fan girl Adele is also in the running at 50/1 but has always made it clear she isn’t keen on playing big festivals, so may be a nice fit but would be a surprising addition to the line-up.”

See the Betfair odds below.

Daft Punk 3/1
Jay Z 5/1
Kanye West 7/1
Lady Gaga 7/1
Green Day 15/2
The Weeknd 10/1
Rihanna 10/1
Bruno Mars 12/1
Katy Perry 12/1
Frank Ocean 12/1
Chainsmokers 12/1
Ed Sheeran 16/1
Taylor Swift 18/1
Justice 18/1
Drake 20/1
Coldplay 25/1
Solange 25/1
Clean Bandit 25/1
Dua Lipa 25/1
Rag ‘n’ Bone Man 33/1
Kygo 33/1

Justin Bieber 50/1
Maroon 5 50/1
Robin Schulz 50/1
Martin Garrix 50/1

Martin Garrix Talks “Scared To Be Lonely” & Returning To Coachella After 3 Years

Martin Garrix recently sat down in his studio to speak with Fuse.tv about a variety of topics, including his collaboration with Dua Lipa on “Scared To Be Lonely,” and collaboration in general, as well as his Seven EP and finally returning to Coachella.

First, Garrix reveals that Dua Lipa was actually on his bucket list of vocalists to collaborate with, and it was a dream come true to work with her on “Scared To Be Lonely.” Because they were working remotely, the entire collaboration was finished without them ever meeting – their first time seeing each other in person was on the set of the music video!

Garrix also talked about the reasoning behind releasing his Seven EP during Amsterdam Dance Event, as a way to give back to fans, and also because nearly the entire dance music industry was present in the city while tracks were being released.

Founding his own record label, STMPD Records, has allowed him to work in the studio without any restrictions and little oversight, which he says has improved his creativity. He also says he has a lot of new music coming out this year, some of which we might be lucky enough to hear at Coachella in April. Garrix hasn’t played Coachella since 2014, so he’s obviously happy about coming back.

Could Martin Garrix Be Remixing His Own Newest Hit?

Martin Garrix played a massive set in Amsterdam last night, during which he played a really great remix of his new hit with Dua Lipa, “Scared To Be Lonely.” Believed to be a Brooks remix of the track, we’re already excited enough about it.

However, a recording of Martin’s Snapchat at the end of the video, showing him jamming to the remix in his own studio, leads us to question whether or not Garrix also put his own spin on the remix along with Brooks.

Check out the recording below and let us know what you think.

Go Behind The Scenes of Martin Garrix’s “Scared To Be Lonely” Music Video

Martin Garrix and pop vocalist Dua Lipa released their collaborative track “Scared To Be Lonely” at the end of January, coming as a stylistic follow-up to Garrix’s 2016 song with Bebe Rexha, “In the Name of Love.” The track served as a deeper and more personal exploration of the melancholy and romantic path that his releases are beginning to go down.

The song was unveiled alongside an official music video, starring both Garrix and Lipa. The story followed the two as they experience the ups and downs of an intimate relationship, complete with abstract imagery and multiple shooting locations.

According to director Blake Caridge, however, the story’s main meaning comes from the small, fleeting moments during which a partner evaluates staying or leaving their relationship. In a brand new Behind the Scenes video, he and Garrix are interviewed about the process of creating the music video alongside footage of the sets and time in between shooting.

From the various technology used to shoot the video – including drones! – to the difficulties of working with non-actors, all of the information surrounding the mysterious music video is revealed in full.

Check out the Behind the Scenes clip below, and scroll further to watch the official music video itself.

We Asked Our Followers About Martin Garrix’s New Track & They Don’t Know What To Think

Martin Garrix released his new song “Scared To Be Lonely,” featuring Dua Lipa, late Thursday night. With sweltering synths and emotional vocals from Dua Lipa, the song became an instant favorite. However, we wondered how fans would like it compared to his previous hit with Bebe Rexha, “In The Name Of Love.”

In a Twitter poll beginning Jan 26, we asked if “Scared To Be Lonely” was better than “In The Name Of Love”? Surprisingly, 35% of voters responded “Can’t Decide,” while 32% responded yes and 33% responded no.

Clearly, there are a lot of mixed feelings about his new track – but if there’s one that can’t be denied, it’s that it’s still really, really good. Listen once again below:
