Go Behind The Scenes of Martin Garrix’s “Scared To Be Lonely” Music Video

Martin Garrix and pop vocalist Dua Lipa released their collaborative track “Scared To Be Lonely” at the end of January, coming as a stylistic follow-up to Garrix’s 2016 song with Bebe Rexha, “In the Name of Love.” The track served as a deeper and more personal exploration of the melancholy and romantic path that his releases are beginning to go down.

The song was unveiled alongside an official music video, starring both Garrix and Lipa. The story followed the two as they experience the ups and downs of an intimate relationship, complete with abstract imagery and multiple shooting locations.

According to director Blake Caridge, however, the story’s main meaning comes from the small, fleeting moments during which a partner evaluates staying or leaving their relationship. In a brand new Behind the Scenes video, he and Garrix are interviewed about the process of creating the music video alongside footage of the sets and time in between shooting.

From the various technology used to shoot the video – including drones! – to the difficulties of working with non-actors, all of the information surrounding the mysterious music video is revealed in full.

Check out the Behind the Scenes clip below, and scroll further to watch the official music video itself.

Zedd Talks Benefit Concert & New Music In Radio Interview

Zedd’s ACLU benefit concert, #WELCOME, went on sale this morning. To help promote the cause and talk a little about what’s going on and why he felt he needed to do something like this in the first place, he stopped by 102.7 KIIS FM and spoke with host JoJo.

The 10-minute conversation had a strange course, beginning by talking about Zedd’s obsession with juicing and his “tastefully inappropriate” videos when he asks his trainer to “shake his bottle.” It’s become something of a recurring theme on Instagram Stories and Snapchat, and JoJo is absolutely thrilled about it. That took up the first approximately 4 minutes of the conversation.

From there, the conversation moves to Zedd’s new collaboration with Alessia Cara entitled “Stay,” coming out on the 24th. Zedd plays about 15 seconds of the track over his laptop speakers into the studio mic, and quickly cuts it off before we get any real idea what it’s about. The conversation gets to albums, and Zedd mentions that there might be another Zedd album, there might not be – but his current focus is writing as much music and putting it out as fast as he can.

He also talks about being a celebrity in the world, including an uncomfortable situation in a customs line.

The conversation ends talking about the ACLU benefit concert, #WELCOME, happening April 3 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, with Skrillex, Bebe Rexha, Macklemore, Incubus, Imagine Dragons and more.

Steve James Releases Third Original Single With Lights, “Warrior”

Steve James, the Grammy nominated producer responsible for “Renaissance” and “In My Head,” has just released his third, original single with the help of singer LIGHTS. “Warrior” sees the classic Steve James production style in its most effective environment yet, featuring soaring vocals and the kind of high-pitched melodic bliss that fans have come to love.

This release comes as the first piece of music following James’ two 2017 Grammy nominations for his work on Justin Bieber’s album, Purpose, as well as his work on Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha’s hit single, “In The Name of Love.”

“Warrior” begins with LIGHTS in the spotlight as gentle percussion and atmospheric synths play backup. Light guitar strums and a swell of white noise leads into the break, where a high-pitched electric string above bouncy drum strikes and vocal chops. After another pass, the drop sees the accompaniment of a chorus as they sing along with the main melody.

We Asked Our Followers About Martin Garrix’s New Track & They Don’t Know What To Think

Martin Garrix released his new song “Scared To Be Lonely,” featuring Dua Lipa, late Thursday night. With sweltering synths and emotional vocals from Dua Lipa, the song became an instant favorite. However, we wondered how fans would like it compared to his previous hit with Bebe Rexha, “In The Name Of Love.”

In a Twitter poll beginning Jan 26, we asked if “Scared To Be Lonely” was better than “In The Name Of Love”? Surprisingly, 35% of voters responded “Can’t Decide,” while 32% responded yes and 33% responded no.

Clearly, there are a lot of mixed feelings about his new track – but if there’s one that can’t be denied, it’s that it’s still really, really good. Listen once again below:

Listen To The New Martin Garrix Hit, “Scared To Be Lonely” [OUT NOW]

The moment has finally arrived for fans around the world (and finally the west coast) to listen to the new Martin Garrix song with Dua Lipa, “Scared To Be Lonely.”

Based on previews, many fans have been wary about the song sounding too poppy or veering too far into future bass for their tastes. And while the track definitely has both those qualities, it still retains the signature quality production that Martin Garrix has come to be known for.

Dua Lipa’s vocals are certainly a highlight of the track, much like Bebe Rexha’s were of “In The Name Of Love.” Garrix has a singular ability to write a beautifully melodic verse for vocalists, and then bring out power and emotion in his drops, and it’s on full display with this new single.

Check it out below.

Do you think it’s better than Garrix’s first pop-EDM single, “In The Name Of Love”? Let us know below!
