Your EDM Premiere: ARTY – Falling Down (feat. Maty Noyes) [Seeking Blue]

ARTY has long been one of our favorites here at Your EDM, so we’re thrilled to be premiering his newest single with Maty Notes, “Falling Down.” The best thing about this release, though, is that ARTY went the full mile on this one with another high-energy and festival ready version of the single dubbed the ‘Night Mix.’ Both singles come courtesy of Seeking Blue which has seen success lately with higher and higher profile artists with each passing release, culminating in their biggest to date with ARTY. The single is a wicked new display of ARTY’s new sound and direction which ties in perfectly with the sound and stature that Seeking Blue has created within the online dance music community.

“Falling Down” boasts a beautiful main melody which shows off a softer, warmer house side from the Russian producer that can almost be described as tropical. Maty Noyes’s soaring vocals will sure to have you in the state of euphoria while ARTY weaves deftly between the boundaries of conventional EDM and pop music seamlessly blending both worlds. The ‘Night Mix’ captures the same euphoric state of the original but utilizes some incredible future bass chops in both drops to kick the song a strong kick and show off some production versatility for the festival-loving crowd.

“The Night Mix version came together as an idea to show the beauty of the vocals and harmonies in a different spotlight. Since the original version is keeping the mellow vibe, the Night Mix is more dynamic, showing the uplifting side of the song.”

Stream both singles below. ARTY will be taking over our Spotify playlist tomorrow and running an AMA on /r/electronicmusic in promotion of his new single(s)!

Hardwell’s Reddit AMA Reveals Fate Of Anticipated Martin Garrix Collab

Years ago, Hardwell and Martin Garrix made a song together called “Music Box.” Much like his collaboration with Ed Sheeran, “Rewind Repeat It,” “Music Box” has been held away from fans at arm’s length.

Today, Hardwell revealed in a reddit AMA that “Music Box” will likely never come out.

Though the format of his comment is a little odd, it’s clear that he’s referring to the collab and that just makes us sad. It makes us even more sad that, if a high-profile collab with someone like Hardwell will never be released, it’s unlikely that “Rewind Repeat It” will ever get released either.

Thomas Gold Answers Fan Questions on asQme

Thomas Gold, a prominent figure in progressive house music, recently released a couple singles titled “Magic” and “Better Versions of Myself“, some teasers before his upcoming album drops. Alongside these releases, Gold decided to do an AMA on asQme, giving his fans the chance to ask whatever might be on their minds.

In the questions asked, Gold speaks on what super heroes would popular DJs be, if he’d rather go out to dinner with Trump or Angela Merkel, what’s on his rider, his future plans, and what being relevant means to him. While some of the responses are rather light-hearted, many of them are packed with useful knowledge.

Take a look for yourself:

If record producers/DJs were superheroes, who would be superman, batman, spiderman, and who would be a supervillain? Why?

Dinner with Donald Trump or Angela Merkel? Why?

What’s on your rider?

Where is the best place to go for a beer in Berlin?

What was your first job before being a producer/DJ?

As a musician, what does it mean to be relevant? Do you care about something like that?

Are you going to have another remix competition?

Kaskade Talks Music, Performing, His Love of Cereal, & More in Reddit AMA

As expected from someone of his stature, Kaskade is all over the place lately. The legendary DJ/producer made headlines a few days ago when it was announced that he would be signing a new contract with Warner Brothers and just yesterday, he took to Reddit for a very extensive AMA (Ask Me Anything) session. Over the span of two hours, Kaskade answered as many questions as possible from his fans and followers; his relaxed, intelligent character made for some truly interesting (and occasionally clever) responses and it was clear he was happy to be interacting with his supporters.

And his fans were stoked to be interacting with him! Especially those that shared his Utah roots; one user from Salt Lake City in particular hopped onto the thread to praise him for both his music and the work he put into the SLC dance music scene years ago. He was also curious as to how growing up in a strict LDS (Latter-day Saints) community had affected his early days of making music; Ryan (Kaskade) replied that he had always had the full support of his friends and family and he attributes where he is today to the people that both helped and gave him room to grow.

Others were curious about his opinion on the ‘future/deep/ghetto house’ movement that gained so much steam last year, to which he had a short but extremely real reply:

It’s cool. Electronic music continues to change and flourish, it doesn’t matter what you call it.

As he is a an absolutely stellar DJ, some were eager to know more about what his performances entailed; how much of his set is planned beforehand and how much of his set is him feeling out the crowd?

I carry and SD card on it with about 2000 songs so I can go wherever I would like to go. But for BIG shows like that one in Denver (Decadence NYE) I have the first few tracks sorted out in my mind. I will pull from a playlist that has about 30 tracks in it that I think will work that night and just go with it.

Inevitably, the topic of dance music’s future was brought up. Ryan’s opinion was that we would stop calling it EDM at some point and, naturally, it would continue to grow and evolve. He thinks we won’t even recognize it when it’s evolved past a certain point; whether that’s a good or bad thing, he couldn’t say.

Also in the ‘inevitable’ category were questions about his deal with Warner Brothers. Many of these went unanswered, but one user was curious as to whether or not it would affect Ryan’s goals with his own label, Arkade, and that garnered a response:

I  made Arkade to bring attention to young/new talent. To help give artists that I love an outlet to put music out. The deal that I made with Warner does not affect how I will go about running Arkade. If anything it gives my label more impact.

And finally, the most important question surrounding the man, the legend that is Kaskade: just how much does he like cereal?

I love cereal so much that I would eat it every meal if I could. I am sad that this is not possible. I pray for a day that this will be my reality.

We thought these were some of the highlights from the AMA, but make sure to check out the full session here for any shenanigans we may have missed!
